Application Notice Codes

While using Gabriel, you may notice various messages that contain a “notice” code at the bottom. Use the table below to learn more about each code.

SD-SM-0
Secure Mail Disabled For Peer
The peer you tried to mail does not have a premium account that supports Secure Mail. In order to send Secure Mail both the sender and receiver need to be running Gabriel and have a premium account. You may also see this message if your peer or the domain admin has disabled or blocked incoming Secure Mail.
SD-SC-0
Secure Messaging (Chat) Disabled For Peer
The peer you are trying to chat with does not have a device online capable to accept incoming messages. This can happen when (1) the user is new and has not registered any devices or (2) all of the user’s devices are offline. 
SD-SVV-0
Secure Calling Disabled For Peer
The peer you tried to call does not have Secure Voice or Video services enabled. Some Gabriel clients (Linux, for example) do not support Voice and Video calling. You may also see this message if your peer or the domain admin has disabled or blocked incoming Secure Voice & Video calls. 
SD-SVV-1
Secure Calling Disabled For Your Device
The current device (that is trying to make the call) does not have Secure Voice & Video enabled. This could happen if you or your domain administrator has disabled this service or if you are running on a device that does not have voice & video capabilities. 
SD-SS-0
Secure Share Disabled For Peer
The peer you tried to view files for does not have Secure Share services enabled. You will see this if your peer (1) does not have a premium account or (2) only have a mobile device online [mobile devices do not run Secure Share] or (3) the non-mobile devices online are not running Secure Share services because they have been disabled by the user or the domain admin.

Secure Calling Disabled For Your Device
The device you selected does not have Secure Share services enabled. Mobile devices do not run Secure Share services. You could also see this message for OS X or Windows devices if you or the domain administrator has disabled this service. 
FD-SS-1
Unable to Share a Screen Shot or start Live Screen Sharing
You will see this message on Windows or OS X devices that do not have a premium account. Upgrade to a premium account to access all features of Gabriel. 
FD-QS-0
Unable to share a file or picture from Secure Message
When trying to send a file to a friend using the paperclip/camera icon in a Secure Message you may see this message. Since all data is encrypted-end-to-end both devices need to be available to create a VPN.Generally speaking, if your friend has a premium account and an online device you will not see this message.Here are the cases where you may encounter this message:You are trying to send a file to a user who does not have any devices online.You are sending a file to a user who only has an iOS device and their device is sleeping. Try to message your friend first so they can bring their app to the front.You are sending a file to a user who only has an Android device and their device does not wake up in time to start the VPN. You may have success trying a second time in this scenario. 
SD-SSY-1 or SD-SSY-2
Unable to create an automatic backup using Secure Sync
While creating an automatic backup, you may see this message if you only have one device on your account. You need at least one other online device on your account with the Secure Share feature enabled in order to backup your files. Consider installing Gabriel on second OS X or Window device so you can choose it as the destination for the backup/sync. A premium account is required to utilize Secure Share and the Secure Sync/Backup features. 
AD-SS-1
Activate in Server Mode
Activating in server mode will allow you to invite others to use the server as one of their own devices. Users can also optionally designate the server as their default server for Secure Mail, Share and Sync.After you have activated the server, you will need to provision it before others can be invited to use it. You can provision servers on the admin console, https://myvirnetx.com/server/provision.
